Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was recently conferred with the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. The Forbes in partnership with FIN (Foreign Investment Network) conducts Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. This conference is held annually at New York during the (UNGA) United Nations General Assembly meeting. This years Forbes-FIN roundtable conference was held via online medium. The conference saw participation from several top businessmen, leaders as well as members from International business community, politics, investors, media partners, opinion leaders, religious leaders and political leaders.
Apart from the critical leadership and philanthropic conference, the roundtable conference is anticipated among experts and business community for its annual ‘Best of Africa’ awards. This is a prestigious award which recognises leaders and businesses across Africa for their contributions towards empowerment of African economy and its people. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was one of the honorary speakers during the event. At the same time, he was also conferred with the prestigious ‘Best of Africa’ awards. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani received the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the year’ award 2021 for his contributions towards banking & finance industry of Zambia leading to its redefining.
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is the owner of several top companies across Zambia. However, one of the most recognised companies by Dr. Rajan Mahtani is the Mahtani Group of Companies which was founded in the year 1981. Mahtani Group rose to prominence by transferring itself to a conglomerate with expansion to several related and unrelated sectors. The Mahtani Group expanded to agriculture, real estate, finance & insurance, mining and energy. The group furthered its operations to numerous African locations including Malawi and South Africa.
Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s philanthropic and charitable are also praiseworthy. He founded the Prison Fellowship Zambia for providing equal opportunities for justice for the inmates, ex-inmates and their families. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is also known for his contributions in law education with establishment of Stephen Malama award and scholarships for top law graduates from Zambia.
