Dr. Rajan Mahtani Further Launches Protest By Appealing To The Higher Court Of Zambia

Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been fighting a case at the Lusaka High Court for the legal takeover of his factory, Portland Cement Zambia. He is a noted businessman, social worker and philanthropist. While the final verdict for the case was announced a few weeks back, it was shocking and further actions have been taken now.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani started the Portland Cement Zambia factory long back and was also in the leadership position for a while. During his leadership, the factory flourished with production above expected. This was seen in the above-industry average wages and salaries and attracted employees and workers from far-off places. However, the condition of the factory has been disappointing since its takeover. Without effective leadership, the factory assets are corroding and half of the employees have already left the company. Also, the production has reduced to a minimum and the factory is in the brink of collapse. It is safe to say that the fate of the hands is now at the hands of the court and the decision.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani

While all these evidences were sufficient enough to prove Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s claims over the legal ownership at the factory, the final judgment given by the Lusaka High Court judge was shocking to say at least. The final judgment was given against Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s claim. It was a shocking event, given the judge’s quick succession of the case and also positive moves to quickly wrap-up the case. It is a clear case of misdirected judgment and a major disappointment for Dr. Mahtani, who has been patiently waiting for the judgement for over ten years. However, Dr. Rajan Mahtani took the right step immediately after this misdirected judgment by appealing to the higher court of Zambia. In his appeal, Dr. Mahtani has claimed that the final verdict given by the Lusaka High Court judge was skewed and has demanded actions from the higher court of justice.
