The former Finance Bank Zambia Chairman, Dr. Rajan Mahtani, has once again been defamed by Zambia Reports on account of mismanaging Portland Cement Zambia in the past. The latest report from Zambia Reports suggests that the Ndola-based cement plant has won the award for being best employer in Zambia for 2016. However, when one connects the dots that have been left in the past, the achievement looks more like a script.
Portland Cement Zambia has been one of the most prominent cement producing unit in Zambia. The factory had made tremendous progress when it was being run by Finsbury Investment. An exclusive example of such development is surpassing the forecasted output in 2014-15 by 100,000 tonnes. Moreover, there were no cases of mismanagement and termination of employees under unacceptable grounds. But when the management of the factory was forcefully taken over by Ital Terrazzo Limited on April 7, 2015, it was seen that the factory was undergoing big losses and as a result several employees of the factory were being terminated.
Given the facts, it is obvious that the conspirators would be looking forward to boast about themselves and in the meanwhile, they will also be looking forward to defame Dr. Rajan Mahtani. In the article published by Zambia Reports, it has been mentioned that when ITL took over the factory, it was in a very poor shape and most of the assets had become a waste. Nonetheless, their attempt to defame Dr. Rajan Mahtani has once again failed as the locals in Zambia remain indifferent to what Zambia Reports has to say. Apart from a few loyalists there is not much support for them in Zambia and worldwide. Being a news portal, it has simply forgotten the ethics of journalism long time back and continues to chase money.
