Now, one question that would arise in the mind of every reader is why would be Dr. Rajan Mahtani be interested in setting up a bio plant? Well, the answer has two reasons. First of all, Dr. Mahtani is a man on a mission to develop Zambia. This bio-plant would offer employment to the locals and will improve the productivity of the region. Secondly, the bio ethanol plant would help Zambia to go green and fight pollution.

As per the derived estimates, about 7000 people would be directly employed and another 25000 farmers would be required to meet the requirement of cassava. The basic input which the bio-plant would be using is cassava and its wide availability in the region will make it easier for the plant to operate. Witnessing the above mentioned conditions and reasons, it has become obvious that Luapula was an underutilized province and with this project, the potential of the same will now be utilized to the fullest.
