The Chairman of Mahtani Group of Companies, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been defamed by Zambia Reports on account of being involved in secretly funding the election campaign of United Party for National Development (UPDN). The allegation was put up because Zambia Reports is funded by the Ventriglia family, who are the minority shareholders of the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory.
The article which was published by Zambia Reports constantly talks about Dr. Mahtani had funded the UPND party with K 200, 000 along with hiring cadres to create a disturbing situation near the election booth by harassing voters and PF party members. However, the story was purely imaginative and based on the malign intent of the author. An exclusive proof is the claim of having six ‘Toyota Pajaros’. The author of the article has mentioned that Dr. Rajan Mahtani had given the cadres six Toyota Pajaro for going to the different places and harass the voters during election campaign. Nobody has ever heard of a car from the car manufacturer Toyota and moreover, the company itself is unaware of any such brand.
The claims and allegations made by the faceless author of Zambia Reports is purely based on his imagination and under the pressure of the Ventriglia family. Since, the fight for Zambezi Portland Cement Factory is going on, the Italian Mafias are looking forward to draw the attention of Dr. Rajan Mahtani as he is one of the key figures in Finsbury Investments, the owner of Zambezi Portland Cement Factory.
