Supreme Court Stops Simaata’s Carnage, Declares Him Guilty

It is no doubt that Simaata Simaata is infamous across entire Zambia for his notorious and overzealous nature. He has been involved in many controversies in the past too. However, being a businessman and known personality, he is always in the news. The latest controversy by Simaata came in news when he was found accusing Finance Bank Zambia of wrongful activities. Finance Bank Zambia was established by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a businessman of high repute and respect. Dr. Mahtani has been staying in Zambia for many decades and has successfully built his empire with honesty and integrity. Finance Bank is a prime example of his respectable businesses as the bank is among the fastest growing in Zambia.

As a result, the news of Finance Bank suing Simaata quickly became national news. Simaata had earlier signed an agreement with the bank for which he was paid a good amount. It was a non-disclosure agreement. But as Simaata’s nature suggests, he quickly turned this truce between him and the bank as an opportunity to create controversy and disrupt the business. Thus, there were many instances where Simaata was found to be breaking the agreement terms. He testified against the bank as well as Dr. Rajan Mahtani across various Zambian courts. These testimonials were given at his own will and were portrayed the bank in negative image. Since the testimonials were given to courts, they started spreading like fire and quickly created a negative reputation for the bank. Similarly, he released documents and statements to a daily newspaper. These statements were clearly private as per the agreement. All these activities gave Finance Bank no choice but to sue Simaata at the Supreme Court.

The verdict of Supreme Court Judges is a prime example that honesty and truth always wins at the end. Simaata was charged guilty and was also asked to pay fine for breaking the agreement. However, given Simaata’s nature, it is yet to be seen whether he has learned anything from this mistake.
