Zambia has seen many ups and downs in the past few years. Along with Zambia, its people have also been leading a difficult life. However, there are honest businessmen like Dr. Rajan Mahtani who are working day and night for making the nation a better place economically and socially. His companies such as Finance Bank Zambia and Portland Cement are proof that his first priority is the people of Zambia and their welfare. At the same time, Zambia is also full of corrupted individuals, groups and families. Some of these are locals while others have migrated to terrorize the common people without any rules or regulations and solely for personal gains. Dr. Mahtani has always kept himself away from these conspirators.
However, the same cannot be said regarding the conspirators who are always in the lookout for running or defaming Dr. Mahtani’s reputation for profits. Either by force, or by using sole media like Zambia Report, these conspirators have always tried to ruin the reputation of this honest business entity. Unlike them, Dr. Mahtani has always taken support from law and court for counterattack. One such case was filed with the Supreme Court of Zambia against Simaata Simaata. The case was filed by Finance Bank and Simaata was an ex-employee who broke various sections of a contract signed between him and FBZ. The court found Simaata guilty of the charges and rightly so. He not testified against FBZ & Dr. Mahtani across various courts, but also gave sensitive documents and statement to newspapers openly. These activities were a clear breach of the contract. These also resulted in grade reputational loss for both Dr. Mahtani & Finance Bank.
Simaata will be paying a fine for his activities and in case of further violation; strict actions will be taken against him. We can only wait and see if this judgment by SC will teach conspirators of Dr. Mahtani a lesson or not.
